Have your CrossFit workouts become stagnant and your fitness goals a blur? Do you feel like you are not becoming the CrossFit warrior you initially envisioned?
Let me show you how to get the fire burning and keep your goals precise and clear! Many of us in the CrossFit ring have found the workouts to be addicting but the results not as pronounced as we would like.
What I am about to share with you is actually a ninja mind exercise that borders on stalking, without the creepiness or legal issues which usually follow this type of deviant behavior! All of this can be obtained by the target person not even aware of it. Even if they are, I highly doubt they would care. Actually, they might even be flattered knowing that you have chose them to be your mind mentor. This method is a sure-fire way to sharpen your workouts and brighten the light at the end of the tunnel.
First of all, scan your CrossFit gym for the person you envy or would like to be like. Hell, it may be someone you are so jealous of, you "hate" them! They should possess the characteristics you desire or body you want to build. Learn as much about them as possible. Sometimes, the more you learn about them, the less you want to be like them.
If this gym member has the workout and personality characteristics you would like to emulate, simply copy them. You can picture them as a personal mentor or role model. Like I said earlier, they don't even need to know you exist. Chances are, if they don't know you now, they probably will at some point. Remember, like attracts like!
Do you want more stamina? Do you want to lose weight and keep it off? Do you want the best body you can have? Pick a member in your gym who has not only accomplished what you strive for, but also keeps it going with class and dignity. It is one thing for someone to lose weight in an unhealthy manner, or is fit, but a total ass in the gym. Find the person who best reflects your end goal.
The person you choose should have the habits you want to build. If you do visit with them about these habits, I can guarantee they will tell you that they fought through the various obstacles and distractions until their workout and life patterns became automatic. They most likely were no different than you. Many athletes love to share their story.
Remember, start with the end in mind! Get this vision and let it become your focus. Watch your "CrossFit mentor". See how they live their life and emulate it with maybe a little "twist" of your own. Most of all, "Do not re-invent the wheel"! Your focus should not stray from the ideal person or athlete you strive to become.
The daily habits you develop by emulating your mentor, will provide the foundation for what you want to become. You cannot just tell yourself that "I will workout and eat like them when I have their fitness level." You must start acting like that person before you can transform into that person. In other words, live like you are already reached your goals. It is amazing how your mind can be fooled into thinking you are that person, even before you become that person. Habits most often become reality in no time. The habits you have now, are the same ones that got you where you are now. These are not the habits you require to become the person you desire! Better yet, think about what life would be like, in the near and distant future, if you don't alter your habits
In a nutshell, find the CrossFit member you imagine yourself being, and copy them. It's as simple as that!
